Born on March 22, 1975, in Santa Barbara, California, Cole Kenneth Hauser hails from a prominent Hollywood lineage. His mother, Cass Warner, founded Warner Sisters, a film production company, and is the granddaughter of Harry M. Warner, a co-founder of Warner Bros. His father, actor Wings Hauser, is known for his roles in Vice Squad and The Young and the Restless .   

Hauser’s acting debut came in the 1992 film School Ties, which featured a young cast including Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. He gained further recognition with roles in Dazed and Confused (1993) and Good Will Hunting (1997) .
